| Senior Electrical Engineer SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER Summary: Our client is an Alberta-based High Voltage Electrical Engineering company that specializes in substation engineering. Professional services include project consulting and management, design engineering, and procurement of materials associated with electrical facilities. To support the rapid growth of the company, our company is currently looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer. As a senior member of our team, the successful candidate will work as part of an engineering/design team to deliver projects for clients in the utility, power generation and oil and gas industries. The Senior Electrical Engineer should posses a broad range of expertise in high voltage substation facilities, specifically in the Electric Utility Industry. This is a full-time position located in Calgary, Alberta. Responsibilities: • Lead various aspects of high-voltage substation electrical designs. • Contribute to and lead the direction of conceptual designs for projects • Prepare schematic diagrams, logic diagrams, wiring diagrams, single-line diagrams, cable lists, and material lists to meet specific project requirements. • Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior engineers and designers • Liaise with Project Managers and Clients to resolve technical and project issues • Review and check drawings to ensure designs meet technical needs of the client and adhere to industry standards for reliability and safety. • Professionally authenticate/stamp drawings as required • Assist in the recruitment of junior technical staff Qualifications: • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering • Minimum seven (7) years of direct related experience; preference will be given to those with high voltage utility experience • Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with APEGGA and other provincial associations as required • Possess strong written and oral communication. • Demonstrated strong leadership skills and ability to resolve technical issues • Possess strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. • Previous experience with Microstation or AutoCAD would be an asset.
