| PROJECT COORDINATION ENGINEER (Mechanical Engineer - P.Eng) PROJECT COORDINATION ENGINEER (Mechanical Engineer - P.Eng) Job Status: Full Time Amount of Travel Required: 10-15% Positions Supervised: 1-5 Salary: $90k-$110k range (Depending on Experience) POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the General Manager your focus is on mechanical engineering design and understanding of vessels, vessel fabrication, pressure vessels and pumps, filtration etc. Must have experience at the floor level working with other technical staff and other key personnel within the company. You will be mentoring staff and provide design guidance. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports. • Confer with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information. • Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications. • Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications. • Research and design systems and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles. • Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance crew. • Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products, using drafting tools or computer-assisted design/drafting equipment and software (AutoCAD and Inventor). • Provide feedback to design engineers on customer problems and needs. • Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions. • Develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility, operating condition effects, possible new applications and necessity of modification. • Estimate costs and submit bids for engineering, construction, or extraction projects, and assist in the preparation of contract documents. QUALIFICATIONS A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical engineering is preferred and five to ten years related experience within a manufacturing or EPC environment. Working knowledge of industry standards such as API, ASME, CWB, CE-ATEX and OH&S. P.Eng is required. SKILLS & ABILITIES • Ability to organize and direct a project to completion. • Ability to communicate in writing clearly and concisely. • Ability to adapt to change in the workplace. • Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem. • Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word. • Ability to make critical decisions while following company procedures. • Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion or job type. • Ability to think in such a way as to produce a new concept or idea. • Ability to influence others to perform their jobs effectively and to be responsible for making decisions. • Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work-related problems. • Ability to organize and direct a project to completion. Computer Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Project) is required. Knowledge and experience with Inventor or similar three dimension solid modeling / CAD experience is an asset. Certificates & Licenses A P.Eng designation is required. Other Requirements Standard to advanced experience in the oil and gas industry is required in addition to knowledge of the various systems that composed of pressure vessels and vessel fabrication.
